Bytewax is building the next generation of data processing tools to process real-time data. Founded by ML and Data leadership from Github, our team has developed cutting-edge technology that enables developers to quickly and effectively build software with real-time data streams.
The landscape of streaming data has seen a rapid evolution in the past decade, driven by increasing data volumes and the necessity for real-time processing (IoT, sensor data, real-time consumer applications, finance, etc). Today it powers some of the world’s greatest products: Netflix, Uber, Spotify, etc, but building and maintaining these systems and the data they manage is incredibly hard. Our mission is to make stream processing faster and easier for everyone, regardless of their level of expertise, and enable the next generation of ML and AI-driven products.
Bytewax is backed by leading early-stage VCs as well as angels from Heroku, GitHub, Redis, Shopify, and Microsoft. We operate 100% remotely with folks on 3 different continents. The team has experience building data and infrastructure tooling at Simple, Yelp, Chef, GitHub, and Heroku.
The Business Development Representative Role
We are looking for dynamic and driven candidates to join our team as Business Development Representatives (BDR). This role is crucial for driving our growth and expanding our customer base. BDRs at Bytewax focus on identifying and engaging potential customers, developing pipelines, and creating qualified deals.
Responsibilities:
- Avid Hunter: Identify and engage with potential customers through various channels, including cold calls, emails, and LinkedIn messages. While the call requirement may vary based on data, you are not afraid of making 30-50+ calls in a day.
- Pipeline Development: Generate a significant number of outbound communications daily to create new business opportunities and expand Bytewax’s customer base.
- Self-Starter: Take initiative in driving sales processes and proactively seek out new business opportunities without constant oversight.
- Qualified Deal Creation: Leverage your proven experience to identify, qualify, and create high-quality deals that contribute to our sales pipeline.
- Metrics-Driven: Utilize metrics to set and achieve goals, understanding the correlation between outreach activities and revenue generation.
- Discovery Calls: Comfortably lead discovery calls to understand customer needs, identify pain points, and propose appropriate Bytewax solutions.
- Open Source Experience: Familiarity with open-source technologies is a plus, as Bytewax is an open-source framework and values community engagement.
